Our Ethos

1. To CREATE Incredible, often Edible, Travel Experiences

Over 33 years of running tours, I’ve experienced it all—from ultra-luxury private tours to a season of organizing budget trips for a successful low-cost travel company. Along the way, I learned two key lessons:

  1. Keep it Real: I prefer genuine experiences over catering to overly high-maintenance travelers. If someone’s trip hinges on having fluffy towels or Bulgari toiletries, we’re probably not the right fit.
  2. Avoid Budget Travel: While budget travel has its place, it’s not my style. Constantly cutting corners means missing out on the richness Europe has to offer, and that’s not how I want to explore—or help others explore—the world.

That’s why I’ve chosen to focus on the upper-middle market—a sweet spot that keeps everyone comfortable and happy, including me. This approach allows us the flexibility to create truly memorable, enriching experiences. It’s how I love to travel: a rewarding day with a few “WOW” moments, followed by a comfortable (sometimes exceptional) place to stay, and a delicious dinner shared with great company. At ScooterBella, we love to blend our love of the outdoors with the joy of good food and wine to create what we like to call “Incredible, often Edible, Travel Experiences.”

Do the Right Thing

At the heart of Customwalks is a simple but powerful mantra: “Do the Right Thing.” This ethos guides everything we do, especially when it comes to customer service. While it might sound banal, it’s a grounding principle that ensures we stay on track, make thoughtful decisions, and consistently provide the best experience for our clients.

2. Do the Right Thing

Secondly, but importantly, and at the risk of sounding boringly earnest, we have a very simple Mantra/Ethos at the core of the business which is “Do the Right Thing”. It underpins everything that we do. It might sound a little commonplace but it is actually very helpful and gives us direction, especially when it comes to customer service.
