Brett Naisby

Founder of Customwalks/Scooterbella

Originally from Ottawa, Canada, Brett has spent his life blending a love of travel, culture, and the great outdoors. After studying in Canada and France, he earned a Master’s Degree in International Studies from McGill University in 1990. That same year, he began guiding luxury biking and walking tours in France for Butterfield & Robinson, igniting his passion for adventure travel.

In 1994, Brett left a promising career with the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs to embrace a life in Europe, settling in the heart of Tuscany’s Chianti wine region. He founded Customwalks Ltd. in 1996, growing the business into today’s thriving boutique tour operator with over 30 years of experience. In 2006, he created the ScooterBella brand and started doing Vespa tours in his backyard of the Chianti wine-growing region of Tuscany. He has since personally developed our Vespa tours in Puglia, Basilicata, Tuscany, Croatia, and Provence. The Andalucia tour he delegated to Sara and Marco to research, but he has also driven/checked all the routes, but on a BMW GS 1000.   

Until 2023, Brett split his time between homes in Christchurch, New Zealand, and Tuscany. Now, he is a full-time resident of Chianti, where he continues to live, work, and savor life in one of the world’s most enchanting regions.
