We highly recommend that you purchase Trip Cancellation Insurance and supplemental Travel Medical Insurance. Should you have to cancel your trip because of illness, injury or death to you or a family member, trip-cancellation insurance protects most of your deposits and payment for both air and land cost. Should you be injured during the course of your travels abroad supplemental Travel Medical Insurance will give you peace of mind and the financial wherewithal to cover the costs of medical treatment abroad and repatriation.

For Australian clients we can suggest
International Driver’s Licence
for Scooter Tours only
NOTE: Everyone who drives one of our scooters needs to have an international driver’s license (unless you have a European Union driver’s license; i.e., a UK automobile license ) in case of an accident. Of course, millions of tourists hire rental cars in Europe every year without these licenses, defying a law that may be archaic and rarely adhered to or enforced. However, if you drive a motor vehicle without the appropriate license, the insurance company could withhold compensation in the event of an accident. An international driver’s license is very easy to get. Simply download the appropriate form (see links below) and send in your form and fees, or call your local driver’s license issuing bureau and ask them what is required. You will need to provide a copy of your driver’s license and 1-2 passport size photos of yourself. Please note that an International License is only valid for one year.
All EU citizens can legally drive in Europe without an International Driver’s license.
- U.S. citizens, you can do most of the procedure online, by following this link to the AAA site:
http://www.aaa.com/vacation/idpapplc.html?association=AAA&clb_id=212&secure=N
- Canadian citizens, you can apply through the CAA website:
http://www.caa.ca/english/travel/documentation/idp-app.shtml
- Australians, through this link, you can find the name and address of the Automobile Club you should contact in order to have your International Driver’s License issued:
http://www.aaa.asn.au/about/members.html
- New Zealand residents, just call your local AA office and they can issue the license immediately. http://www.landtransport.govt.nz/licensing/getting-licence/where.html
**Please note that the International Drivers license is NOT a driver’s license in its own right, and you must also carry your driver’s license with you at all times while driving in Italy and France.
General Information
| Supplemental Travel Health Insurance: to go on our trips you must be in good health and in reasonably good physical condition. We make every effort to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip, but you should be aware that there are certain risks associated with any type of adventure travel and sometimes accidents do happen. Therefore it is essential that you be covered with travel health insurance. Your supplemental travel health insurance must cover the cost of all medical assistance that you may require while in Europe as well as repatriation costs in the event that you need to return home, either as an ambulatory patient or as someone requiring medical assistance during the return flight home. |
